Choosing the right location is the single biggest decision that impacts the success of your advertising campaign. Even the best creative won't work if the wrong audience sees it. Here's a short checklist we use with Telespot clients when selecting screen placements.

1. Evaluate foot traffic, not just population

A large residential complex isn't always the best choice. What matters more is understanding daily routines: do people walk past your chosen spot on their way to the train, parking, or grocery store? A screen near mailboxes or in a lobby typically has higher engagement than a banner on a less‑trafficked facade.

2. Define your customer geographically

For a dental practice or beauty salon, the optimal distance is 10–15 minutes on foot. For bigger purchases (furniture, renovations, auto), the radius can stretch across several neighbourhoods. Before booking, calculate how many potential customers actually live or work within a comfortable distance.

Tip: If you're unsure which area to pick, start with one or two venues and scale your campaign after seeing initial results.

3. Check the competition nearby

Check if there are direct competitors actively advertising within a few hundred metres. Sometimes it's smarter to choose a neighbouring block with less competition than to shout over someone else's ad in the same building.

Other factors that influence your choice

  • Time of day when your audience is most active
  • Seasonality (e.g., kids' classes near schools)
  • Proximity to parking or public transport stops
  • Type of building — new development, older stock, business centre

Summary

The right location combines foot traffic, the right audience, and moderate competition. At Telespot, we help you choose the best spots based on data for each area — just describe your business in a request, and we'll suggest several options.
